Why is the God of Christianity so weak? Why does he need to be crucified at the cross?
Was Jesus a helpless victims at the cross?

He even healed the guard who had his ear cut off. He knew exactly what He had to go through and did it.

V41- greater than Jonah (prophet)
V42- greater than Solomon (king)
V9-15 God’s heart for those who are sick. The Pharisees plotted how to destroy Jesus coz He healed on the sabbath.

– Israel rejected Jesus and wanted Caesar as King.

Gentiles asking who is He born king of the Jews to Herod (puppet king).

Church is not just the building, but the people.

As servers we should build our lives around the church.
When you take care of His house, He will take care of your house.

Effects of worship in Proverbs.
1) proverbs 9:10 vs Matthew 4:10 vs Deut 6:13
Fear of The Lord is the worship of The Lord (interpreted by Jesus)
– in OT most of the time fear of The Lord is worship.
– worship of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
– Solomon worshipped by offering first before God asked him what he wanted…wisdom.

– prolong days….live longer

Strong confidence, place of refuge.
Confidence in The Lord.

* worship is a ministry,not a program.

– rom 9 ( israel past) rom 10 (Israel present), rom 11(Israel future)
Precious pearl ( church)
– sand (injurer), molusk (injured), Pearl ( out came the church), Christ gave his life.
– the bigger the wound the bigger the pearl.
– the lustre of the pearl can be lost due to human perspiration (works) but it can regain through washing by water (word).

– I am part of Jesus’ body…flesh and bone. No sickness.

When you hear a testimony, try to remember the fine points of them. What he does for someone else, he can do for you. God is not a respecter of persons but respecter of faith.

The blessings affect us for the here and now.

When God looks at us, He sees only Jew, Gentile and church.

Kingdom of Heaven, treasure in the field (Israel),
– the man bought the field not only the treasure. Jesus gave everything.

Keep speaking grace, speak and remind that she is without spot (clean) and wrinkle (young)

When we are saved, we are bathed, completely clean. Only need to wash our feet.

Matthew 13:1-19
Previous chapter, the Pharisees committed the unpardonable sin ( unbelief)
Jesus left the house and then went to the seaside and preached 7 parables of the kingdom.
Jesus sat down, multitude stood.
V11- Jeus shared parables so that those who has a heart will appreciate it.

*when you read the bible, know the difference between you and them.
Take heed what and how you hear.
V15: and I should heal them. See with their eyes, hear with their ears and heart understand.
The love of God that binds himself to the covenant. (Similar to Prov 4:20-22)

V19- understand not. ( present active purposeful)
– then ( when people purposefully , deliberate not to understand, the devil will come and remove the word)
– why is Satan so adamant on removing God’s word.

Psalm 110:4
God swore by himself, God cannot lie.
Forever- Paul preached Hebrews 5,6,7 on the priest of Melchizedek

Melchizedek- king of righteousness, king of Salem (shalom, completeness)
– bread and wine, holy communion
– Abraham tithed.
Counterfeit is a proclamation that the reality exists.
Why tithe, Heb 7:4-10
– proclamation of how great He is!
V8- here, there He receives them of whom it is a witness that he lives
Communion is a testimony that he died, tithing is a testimony that he lives!
Jesus brought the communion, Abraham (man) brought tithe as a response.
– here and the is in the present active indicative in the Greek verb.
V9-10: tithing blesses your generation.

Jacob gave a vow to tithe and he still was deceived by Laban 20 years

How to tell the difference between soul (me) and spirit(God).
Joints and marrow (God’s word can penetrate that.) purifying the joints and blood
Motives of the heart.
*cleansing effect when you read God’s word.

All scripture is inspired but not truth but accurately recorded. ( authority vs accuracy)
Holiness is about glorifying The Lord.

Jesus had such respect for God’ s word…it is written.

Letter kills…not referring to God’s word but the Ten Commandments…the only thing that was engraved on stone by God.

Feeling deeply with what the other feels and followed by a strong desire to alleviate or remove the pain.

Humility is not thinking about yourself…it is all about Jesus.
See what the grace of God can do.

1) Chosen generation (hand picked), even the flaws and weaknesses.
2)Made us royal priesthood ( kings and priests)
Word of a king there is power. At the word of the priest every assault and controversy is settled.
3) Holy nation: set apart, different, how disgustingly blessed you are. In Egypt but in goshen. When the world goes dark, we are going from glory to glory.
4) special people- perculiar purchased possession.
5)Called out of darkness into his MARVELOUS light.
God did not come to make bad people good, but to make dead people live!
6)Made his own people…
7)obtained mercy!

All to proclaim the praises of Him!

Our vocation may change but our purpose will not!

Isaiah 26:8
Desire of the fame and renown of His name. That is our purpose!

If you have your purposes right, all the plans in your life will fall into place.

Judges 2:7-10
V10- ours children must know God themselves. Daniel 11:32

Pass on not only the songs we sing about, but the reason why we sing the songs.
Our life is not a singles race but a relay race….passing on to the next generation.
There is a spiritual exchange zone.
Time to let go, time to grab.
